Wells Fargo Credit card department,
I recently received a letter from Wells Fargo dated - - stating that my account was past due and that my account was being shut down and I need to send them money immediately. I have not used this card in over a year and have not received a bill in that time. This is the first that I heard of a balance or that a payment was past due. They certainly have my contact and mailing information, since I receive advertising and other offers from Wells Fargo frequently to entice me to use the card again. At any time they could have sent me a bill, but instead have only contacted me when this balance I was not even aware of is past due. Earlier that week I contacted Wells Fargo about a fraud alert email because of an address change I did not make. It was a false alarm ( simply an update from the post office ) but no mention was made of this overdue bill at that time.
