JPMorgan Chase Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account California
I called and closed my credit card account. At that time I asked if there were any pending fees, charges, etc that could mean I still owed money. I was told there were not. I had paperless billing on so I was not receiving written statements. Account was closed and 3 months later I received a bill for - $50.00. I called up and was told that there were pending fees and now those fees had fees on them because I had failed to pay them in a timely manner. I argued with the service representative and was transferred to a manager who said that because I had been a good customer they would remove all fees, balances, etc. I told them to please note that on my account and turn on paper billing so I could get a record that the account was finally closed and done. One month later I received a bill for $65.00 including late fees, etc. I called and they claim there is no record of me speaking to them last time and that my only option is to pay the money or watch the balance continue to rise.
