JPMorgan Chase Credit card department,
I applied online for a credit card with Chase Bank USA , N.A . - - -, - DE -. They sent me a letter turning me down for a card due to info acquired from -, stating reason was bankruptcy. My credit score is - which was in the good credit area. Here is my problem. I am tired of applying for and being denied for this reason. Okay, we did have bankruptcy in 2011. We had no recourse. For over - decades we had excellent credit, with unlimited access to cards. However, due to my husband 's military status, his social security number was hacked, therein resulting in theft and unauthorized purchases, so high and numerous to be unreal. They had to be incredibly sophisticated with this hack. We could not find out who, where or when it was so huge and numerous. Even if my husband was a millionaire '', I do n't think we could have kept up with the problem, therefore, bankruptcy. My problem is, when will we stop being punished for something out of our control? I can understand a bank denying us for this reason, however, it is so wrong to have points taken away for applying, especially considering the facts surrounding that bankruptcy in the first place! We did not plan to have people invade our privacy and steal from us and I 'm so tired of all of the negative results that was not of our doing!!!
