I spoke with a woman named - '' at a company she told me was called -, and that I owed a debt to - for a breach of contract for $730.00. She claimed I needed to either make a restitution payment on my alleged debt today, or I would be immediately served with a court notice. She absolutely refused to provide me with any paperwork or proof that I owe the alleged sum. She said that would be provided when I went to court. I asked for some additional time to make the decision so I could consult my attorney. She refused. She said they were n't a collection agency, but a mediation firm and if I did not make the restitution payment, I was automatically selecting to go to court, which could result in paying higher fees. For the entire call, she took an incredibly disrespectful, condescending tone. I asked her for information that


the outcome will be the same '' - I told her I did n't care, I just wanted someone who could be respectful. I asked her several times to stop being rude, and she denied that she was, and she referred several times to the fact that I was crying. When I asked for the final time to transfer me to another person, she said hold on, let me tell them I have a crier on the phone. '' I was placed on hold. Her parting words before transferring me were, good luck in court, - - -. Come to find out, after the initial restitution payment was made and I received the receipt via e-mail, the company is NOT called - '' but American Credit Resolution , Inc. So she misrepresented where she was calling from, and probably her name as well. She refused to provide me with a last name. She said she was the only - there.
