This morning I received a collection call from Toyota Financial Services, from whom I lease a vehicle. They claimed I owe over $970.00. After over an hour on the phone, it turns out that an online banking payment was not received for -. The total amount due was $500.00. But the collection agent acted as if I owed that amount, plus the amount due for -, for which I have not yet received a statement, and which is not due until - -. I have never been dunned for amount for which I have not been billed. This is beyond bad customer service ; I believe that it constitutes harassment, violates the terms of the lease, and may violate federal regulations, to seek to collect amounts prior to their due date.
