I used free credit report to obtain a credit report and I needed scores from all - companies. In attempting to obtain those scores each company had confusing or hidden charges. I thought I was paying $39.00 for the report with all - scores. Instead I was charged $1.00 by - then $7.00 by Equifax and an additional $39.00 by - all on the same day, - -, 2015. Then - charged me $21.00 7 days later, - -, 2015 for a credit tracker they said I agreed to. My Husband also needed a credit report with scores and we were charged $4.00 by - and then an additional $39.00 again all on the same day, - - - called - 4 days after the additional charge of $21.00 and was told that I could cancel the credit tracker as of that day but they would not refund any of the charges. I asked them to check the accounts by way of the credit card number charged and they acknowledge the account for myself and my husband and told me they would cancel the credit tracker for both of us ( but no refund for the extra charges ). Free '' credit report. I acknowledge that I had to pay for the scores but $130.00!? I work in the mortgage industry and I am concerned with what happens to clients if they go to Free '' -. I am familiar with the industry and its terms and I was taken by the -. What is happening with the regular consumer? If I had pulled a credit report with scores through the company I use for my clients it would have cost a grand total of $18.00. I am required to clearly and openly disclose why is - and Equifax exempt from the same requirement and allowed to charge any amount with impunity?
