Credit Acceptance Corporation Debt collection department,
Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt is not mine Ohio
I purchased a vehicle through - dealership. The sale price was $5600.00. I had $3000.00 to put down on it but was told by the dealer to put $2500.00 for better chances of getting approved. The dealer then told me my credit was frozen and asked for verification of my SS #. I provided the proper documentation. They then told me that they could only get my financed at a 22 % interest rate. I thought that was because I had filed bankruptcy. I went to sign the papers, they had the wrong SS #. They then said they would fix it. After 3 hours, they said they fixed it and told me sign here, sign here, and rushed me out the door. When it came time to make my first payment I discovered they were still using the wrong ss # and added my down payment into my balance. I contacted the bank and they informed me that they still did not have the right SS # and that the reason why my interest rate was 22 % was because they take bad credit and since my credit was frozen '' they approved me. The dealer never submitted the correct info. I then had to submit documentation to the bank. I am currently taking civil action against them. Then I received a letter from the dealer stating my balance is $2600.00 and wanted me to trade my vehicle in. Then I checked - and noticed that the bank charged my account off at a balance of $4600.00. Sale price was - - $2500.00 down payment, but I owe $4600.00? This is hurting my credit tremendously! Please help me!
