JPMorgan Chase Credit card department,
Once or twice a month, Chase Visa Credit Card sends Promotional 0 % Transfer Balance Checks ''. I availed of the offer and used - of the checks to pay off some credit card balance in another card by depositing the check to joint account with my husband from where I paid online my credit card bills. Without due notice from Chase, the check was returned as unpaid due to insufficient funds. I have a credit limit on this Chase card in the amount of $6000.00. The promotional offer even offered to increase my credit card limit to $15000.00. I used and issued its promotional check for the amount of $3900.00. My complaint is why would Chase Bank dishonor and refused to honor and pay its own promotional check and with outlandish reason : insufficient funds ( when it was its own check ). Worst, it was done without any prior notice that its promotional offer has been withdrawn. This
have provided written notice that its offer is withdrawn. When Chase 's promotional offer via its check was deposited by its customer, this was an act of acceptance, therefore established a contractual obligation between the offeror and offeree. The offer was the promotional check, the acceptance was the act of depositing the check, hence a legal binding contract was formed. Without Chase Bank notifying its client of the withdrawal of offer, it was legally bound to honor its check. This is the crux of my complaint against Chase which I am sure does it against - or - of its customers. I can present documentation on the foregoing if necessary should you find my complaint meritorious to pursue this action against Chase. I wrote Chase customer service and dismissed my complaint with a cursory letter with words, We regret that we are unable to reverse the - party fee that was billed by your bank ''. Chase should be penalized for each dishonored check it made on its promotional check transfers and must be made to provide client prior notice of withdrawal of its offer rather than just saying it has the right to refuse if the check was written over the limit. In my case, it was not over the limit and how could it be insufficient funds when the check is from Chase itself.
