Received free annual credit report through Equifax and discovered unknown - account. Called - to inquire about this account, however, they were not able to find this account because Equifax credit report provides only first - digits of the account number. Called Equifax to inquire about full account number and customer service rep, -, said the only way she could pull up and release full - digit account number is if I purchase Equifax Complete Advantage Plan. I agreed, however, after the purchase she informed me that she could only provide first - digits, and not the full - digit account number. This was completely misleading practice to trick customer into purchasing their product. They refused to provide refund. ( Spoke to the supervisor, -, agent number - - he refused to provide refund, instead gave me cancellation/reference number of - )
