Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Florida
After completing my - of - at - - - I deferred my private loan until -/-/-. I then started attending - University because - - - did not offer a - degree in - at that time. Before attending - University I attempted to go to - - - to continue my education but was denied due to the fact that - - - would not provide the credentials of the - to validate there program. Therefore, - state would not accept any of my nursing credits. It was my understanding that my loan would be deferred due to that fact that I was back in school full time. - Connect then informed me that my loan would only be deferred if I attended - - -. I once again reminded them that in order to continue my education I would have to attend another school since - - - did not provide my program of interest. They eventually stated that I had defaulted on my loan and had to pay a sum of $1600.00. I paid the amount in full on -/-/-. This immediately brought my credit score up to - and I had documentation from - -
with the equifax and experian. This issue is not reporting to transunion. Currently my transunion score is - and Equifax is -. Also, as of currently the way they are reporting the account it does n't look like I 'm making any payments. It states that last payment was made - which is incorrect and that the account is charged off. They did not report the account as charged off until I brought the account current. I am current and have been making payment since -/-/-. I was also informed via email that there is currently a lawsuit regarding - - - misleading students : The Bureau believes that - 's representations led students to think that when they graduated they were likely to land good jobs and enough salary to repay their private student loans. In this way, - exploited student expectations while it knew that a majority of students would default. -. This loan is the only thing that is preventing me from purchasing my home. After paying the past due balance and my credit score going up I was in the perfect position to close on my home. Now that closing is on -/-/-. I am stuck with this issue. I 'm not getting help with the credit bureaus or the loan company which basically stated for me to dispute the reporting with the credit bureaus which has already been completed. Once again I was not informed at all the the account had been charged off until I checked my credit report and saw that my score dropped.
