Well Fargo, where I have a private student loan, stopped sending me statements in - of 2015. When I realized that I had n't paid my usual bill, it was already past due. I called to resolve the issue. I successfully convinced Wells to waive the late fee AND ( I thought at least ) to set up automatic online payments. No paper or online statements came in - of 2015. Instead ( again ) the only way that I realized that I had a past due amount came when I received a phone call demeaning payment. When I called Wells again to see what was going on, they refused to waive the late fee and claimed my earlier conversation setting up the online bill pay never happened.
