a collection company by the name of ATG is collecting for a loan that was charged to my name. I explained that the loan was changed by the company in error because I never took the on line classes and was to be cancelled but they did not cancel the loan at all. Original loan was last paid in -/-/- but this collection company wants to keep it on my report from the date it was put into collection from the original debtor not the time it was last paid. I explained that I read that bad charge offs come out after 7 years from last payment, but they want to put it from last date of transferred to a collection company. Spoke to original debtor and ATG and both of them confirm the same thing. I am in the process of using my credit and this debt is showing up that it was open again in -/-/- vs the original date of -/-/- - from the time it was again put into collection
