I received a call from EOS CCA and was informed that I owe $190.00 for a - bill back in 2011. I told them I have n't had a Century Link account in many years and that I do not owe them any money nor had - tried to collect any money from me. I told them I would need paper verification of the debt and the date of service. The caller asked me if I recognized a phone number linked with the account and if it had ever been mine ; I told him no on both questions. The caller then told me that I should call the police and report my identity being stolen ( escalating voice ). The call ended abruptly. I called - - and they have no records of me or me owing any money. I do not exist in their system. About 10-15 days later, I was checking my credit reports and the company showed up on my - credit report as owing money. The reported date was dated between the time I was called ( - ) and the time I checked my reports ( - ). There has been no mail correspondence and no requested paperwork verification. I immediately submitted a credit dispute to -. Just prior to submitting this complaint to you, I did some research and found several consumer affair sites with same and similar reports as to what I am experiencing. This is a fraudulent debt collection and EOS CCA is apparently well known for this practice.
