Application processing delay California
Citibank sent me offers weekly for months, including - in one day. I finally applied for their card only to be told to call in. I did and they started asking all sorts of extremely personal information. Not trusting the questions I asked why they needed the info since it was all in my credit report. I was not given a reasonable answer so they said they would get me an answer in a week. I said that was just fine. I then received a letter asking for bank statements, phone bills, etc. This seems really sketchy to me. I called and was given the run around again. I have excellent credit and am very easy to find so I ca n't imagine it was an issue of credit worthiness or security. I told them to cancel the application and remove me from all offer lists. I also asked to have a supervisor call me. We will see if that happens.
