Convergent - - reported a collection on my credit report, supposedly myself owing - a balance from an old account, account number -. I received a letter from Convergent, also attached to this email, dated - claiming the debt. I responded to the claim, with the copy of the equipment return, showing a $0.00 balance from that account on -. Convergent nor - had contacted me before the date of the letter from Convergent claiming the debt. However, prior to receiving this - letter from Convergent, the collection was on my credit report. Convergent was in direct violation of the FDCPA and FCRA laws. Those laws state that I have 30 days from the date of the letter, which was received 7 days after the date of the letter. I immediately responded to convergent with the proof of no debt owed to -, and my complaint that they did in fact violate laws by reporting the collection prior to my 30 day response period, and by not providing verification properly, specifically FCRA, 611.B.iii, showing and describing the process, person and accuracy of the debt, NOT a printout of a


supposed '' invoice and collection amount is only $130.00. Which had I been contacted by - or even Convergent, PRIOR to and in accordance with the FCRA laws of the 30 day '' period they are required to allow the debtor '', this would have never become a collection account. I have provided proof to Equifax and Convergent of their viloation of my rights and the FCRA laws, and neither company removes the falsehoods of this account.
