In -/-/- I visited my dentist office to take care of what I thought would be a quick simple procedure. By the time I left I was sold a GE Care Credit Card with a $ 6.5K limit and up sold dental services which, looking back now, were clearly not needed. Young and naive, I did n't know any better and certainly did n't understand the racket I would be subjected to years to come. This credit card charged-off around -/-/- because I was unable to keep up with the terms and conditions of the agreement ( Truth in Lending ), which was not presented to me. The payments I made were primarily applied towards interest due to an already high rate, but also due to a penalty '' rate for making a payment late. I recall one-time being told that it would go back to the lower rate ( the lower rate being 25 % + or so ) once I made - on-time payments. It 's hard to negotiate with - but I tried, but


in -/-/- -before their 0 % debacle started in - it 's clear that this company was NEVER operating under prudent and fair practices. The practices that they were fined for do not show up out of now where ; this company 's divisiveness and lack of transparency was embedded deep and was chronic behavior. I honestly do not know what rights I have as a consumer at this point but thought I would start here to see what assistance I may have in clearing this negative account from my credit report. I 'm happy to see that this company had to pay for their misdealings and hope that those misdealings result in the removal of this charged-off account.
