His name went on the loan and both of our names went on the deed. A few years later we divorced. At that time I was working and was able to keep up with the payments for the home on my own. In our divorce settlement he relinquished his rights to the home, leaving everything up to me. At some point after that I had to quit my job due to a medical condition and have not yet been able to obtain -. From this the mortgage went into default.
