Debt collection communication tactics threatened to take legal action May 16, 2015 - I contacted LVNV about an old debt that I was tricked into paying after statute which is being paid as agreed. While I was talking to her, she found another old credit card debt from 20 years ago which was paid to a different creditor, but is back on their books with outrageous interest. The statute of limitations is 6 years in our state. They sent me a letter demanding a response within 30 days or they will take legal action against me for a 20 year old debt that was already paid to a different creditor.
