Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account Maryland
The credit reporting bureaus are reporting my credit card accounts as fraud which is not the case. Therefore, my credit accounts are being closed in error. I contacted them about two months ago and I was supposed to hear back. To date, I have not received anything other than an affidavit for fraudulent transactions. It was not completed because this is not the case. All charges were authorized and made by me. Also, after updating my address, they keep sending correspondence to the old address which is where the above was mailed. I opened the account to establish and maintain a good credit history and because their incentives appealed to me. This account is valid and I 've made payments on it as agreed over a period of time, close to two ( 2 ) years. Now, that information is not reflected on my credit reports because it was deleted. I did not file a fraud complaint with any of my credit cards or the bureaus. However, I do have a fraud alert which requests to call my number to verify my identity before opening an account under my name. This was done initially when the account was opened and confirmed which is why the account was opened in the first place. I believe what may have prompted this was a change of address as I recently moved. At the moment, valid and accurate information is not being reported under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
