Credit monitoring or identity protection Billing dispute Nevada
I had recieved a copy of a background check from a prospective employer, and it had wrong info on it, so I looked up the - credit agencies online to get my free report from each -. Transunion had the advertisement of - a full report free online, i clicked on it and it didnt give me the free info, said that it was a $1.00 to get the full report and to be able to continue to check my credit with them. So i entered my debit card info, but three months later, I was check my bank ststements for a bill charge I had paid, to see if it went thru, and noticed i had been charged by transunion 4diff times, over three months, and that I had incrued overdraft charges on my account the same days, due to not being aware that they were actually charging me for the " $1.00 '' service. I went online to complain that i never signed up for anything other than their - $1.00 program, so i could check my history, there wasnt a way to do it online, i had to call, and the guy i spoke to said i
of them. He stated they had nothing to do with that that i would have to talk to my bank. I said that they needed to refund the charges to me, and he said he could not, i said i wished to cancel, and he started saying all this stuff about how their program was vital to make sure i didnt get identity theft and to make sure it was 100 % accurate, i said i just wanted to cancel, he had me on the phone for about - telling me all the " great and wonderful '' aspects of their program. Finally, he transferred me so i could cancel the program. I spent about 1 1/2 hours on the phone, disputing the charges and trying to cancel. After I got off the phone I called my bank, and told them that transunion was only supose to have only charged me for $1.00. My bank refunded the first $16.00 charge. But i had already paid the overdraft fees, so I left it at that. But, seeing the info on your site, I figured I would put in a complaint, because it really wasnt clear that they were enrolling me in another program, and that they would be able to charge my bank account for other amounts than what i had authorized. And i think that they should pay people back for the overdraft charges if the charges were incrured because people werent aware of the additional fees they charged.
