Last - I wanted to check my credit score before beginning my new vehicle search. I simply wanted to order a tri-merge credit report ( - TransUnion, - ). After I Navigated thru 's website, following the links to where I can order a credit report, I was taken to a signup form that was not a one time purchase form, rather a monthly subscription form. Here lies the problem. They do n't offer a way for a consumer to purchase a one time or even receive a free credit report. They force the consumer to sign up for the membership. So, as you can guess, like many consumers, time passed and my card on file was billed, $9.00 a month. This persisted until my wife called and complained back in - about cancelling the service and being refunded for past billed months. Nothing was done. Now, on - -, 2017, I logged onto the website and found a way this time to cancel the subscription. I called again to complain to TransUnion about why I 'm still being billed for this service which I never asked to receive and to confirm my account was this time cancelled. After

her I signed up to pay a 1 time fee for a trimerge credit report. After explaining to her that a consumer can indeed just order a onetime report, I asked her again for a refund. This time she complied and said she could only credit back 4months. I was astounded! I ca n't believe after discovering this formal complaint this morning that she would even try to retain me or offer only 4 months reimbursement for fees paid. I said that was not good enough for me, and that I needed to be refunded the entire amount. She then tried to get an E-CEPTION for this refund for all 7 months and said she was successful. I 'm writing today to point out that even with this complaint against - and TransUnion, they are still providing deceptive practices. I should n't need to walk the customer svc agent thru the steps to ordering a report and indeed you are forced to signing up to their membership service. This is a SERIOUS problem and needs to be recognized by these companies in a public way. If there is a class action lawsuit regarding these events that happened to me, please include me as I will gladly participate in helping prevent this from happening again to consumers. Its simply not tolerable for someone who is trying to see their credit score and being duped into paying for an unwanted monthly service ( credit monitoring ) which i never used.
