Medical Taking/threatening an illegal action Threatened arrest/jail if do not pay Ohio
- from First Federal Credit Control ( - ) contacted me this morning regarding the above account balance. I explained to - that I did not have a notice from their office. I asked her to confirm my medical record number/client reference number ending in -, however - was not able to stating they do not receive that information as it changes once an account is received in their office in collections. I advised - that I wanted to confirm this was the same account and she said " I am sure it is, the amount is the same. '' She proceeded to advise me that a letter was sent to me back in - and verified my mailing address. I informed her again that I never received the notice. I explained to - that I have a lot of medical bills that I am paying on and can not afford to pay the full balance and would like to request a discount or settlement. - advised that is not an option that I needed to pay the account in
extremely aggressive and started reprimanding me that the account is over 1 year old, I had ample opportunity to pay the balance and there were on other options available. - then stated the account would be sent to the attorney, I would be sued and abruptly ended the call.I had every intentions to, and I am trying to, pay this bill. It does n't matter if it has been - year or not, if I am not " approved '' to make payments then how will this balance ever get paid? This is the only medical bill I have with this collection agency and they are the only ones not allowing me to make payments.I called back to First Federal Credit Control and asked to speak to - 's Supervisor or Manager and was transferred to the voice mail of - ( # - ). Rather then leaving a message I hung up and proceeded to start filing a complaint.Jackie called me right back indicating she was returning my call. I explained to - about the prior call with - ( and yes by now I am frustrated and upset ) as well as the bill. - was unprofessional, never apologized for her employee 's behavior and was just a aggressive as her employee showing zero empathy for the situation. I explained to - I needed month payments. - then proceeds to offer me the following - If I pay the balance in full in - payment, she will have the collection item deleted from my credit report - & gt ; If I need payments, she will approve monthly payments however the collection item will NOT be deleted from my credit report since I can not pay the balance in full in one payment Now, this is disturbing. I am a Consumer who clearly is attempting to pay her balance. To attempt to incentivize me to pay the balance in full in order to get the collection account removed from credit report is clearly a violation of UDAAP ( Unfair Deceptive Acts and Abusive Practices ) as well as the FCRA ( Fair Credit Reporting Act ). So as a Consumer, I am being " punished '', by using my credit report and my credit score, for the inability to pay my account balance in full? This is a problem. My bill will be paid in full, wether it be in full or payments, so why would the item not get deleted once that balance is paid in full regardless? I informed - that there are multiple violations and the way I am being treated us unacceptable. - and I began to talk over each other, the call continued to escalate at which point I informed - I was filing a complaint with the CFPB, BBB, Attorney General as well as the hospital. - raisedand told me to " '' Do what you feel you need to and we will do what we need to do '' and hung up on me.
