Checking account Account opening, closing, or management California
My bank account was closed without notice by Wells Fargo for no apparent reason. The account was paperless, which saves Wells Fargo money on printing and postage. Wells Fargo is now trying to charge me - dollars for each of the - check images associated with this account, which I need to access for tax purposes. I 'm all for switching to electronic record keeping, but Wells Fargo has used this as a way to extort money from consumers. I 'm perfectly willing to pay some reasonable fee to get access to these files, but a total cost of over $1900.00 to access my own information seems completely unreasonable. The Wells Fargo help line referred me to my local branch. I have tried to work with local bank representative - - to come up with some reasonable solution to this problem, but she has been adamant that Wells Fargo has a right to charge these exorbitant fees. I am perfectly willing to pay some reasonable fee - say a few hundred dollars, but I am not about to pay $1900.00 to access an electronic file. If they do n't want to give me access to the electronic file, they can use the old system and send me the paper checks. - - can be reached at -.
