Amex Credit card department,
Credit line increase/decrease Georgia
I opened a credit card with American Express and they gave me a limit of $10000.00. They asked if i would like to add a family member 's name to the account and have a card sent out to her ( my wife ). They said on the online form that they needed her SSN and that they would not run it, just have it on file for identification purposes. A few months later they arbitrarily reduced my credit limit by $6000.00 and said that I was carrying too many cards with high balances. I only have 2 other cards and and the limits on those are $4000.00 and $500.00. Then It turns out that they 've run my wife ' credit without her permission and have somehow used her credit score to reduce mine AND reduce my limit. Her credit score has taken a hit, and they 're reporting that she has a balance with them of $2700.00 ( having never even spoken with them ).
