Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,

My girlfriend at the time had developed - and was unable to work.So without my job we were unable to pay the rent and were evicted. The Wells Fargo credit card was close to the $600.00 credit limit, but I was continuing to make the minimum payment or a little more each month. In - my credit card was suddenly almost $100.00 over the credit limit. When I reviewed the charges online, I saw that Wells Fargo had approved $100.00 for - renewal. I immediately called Wells Fargo Credit Card Customer Service and asked that the charge be reversed, since they had authorized it despite the fact that it would put me over my credit limit. I spoke with several people, including " supervisors '' who told me that because I had an " ongoing relationship '' with - they were justified in approving the charge and they refused to reverse it. When I was unable to pay the minimum $120.00 the next month because I was still unemployed, Wells Fargo began to add late fees, overlimit fees and penalties to the
got a job in -/-/-, I contacted Wells Fargo Credit Card Customer Service again to set up a repayment plan. I was assured by the agent that once I had paid off the amount owed ( about $1000.00 by then ) the card would be re-opened. However, once the amount owed was paid the card was not re-opened. I was told that because of my prior poor payment history I did not qualify for a Wells Fargo credit card. When the CFPB reports of the illegal actions by Wells Fargo employees were reported a few months ago I called a special phone number Wells Fargo had to report suspected actions by its employees. I called and related the above and asked that my credit card be re-opened. I was told that my issue was not related to the CFPB reports because no account had been opened in my name. Therefore, I am filing this complaint with CFPB. Perhaps there is much more to investigate at Wells Fargo?
