Citibank Credit card department,
I am writing to dispute the response to case # -. For your convenience, I 've included the original complaint : -Original Complaint- I am writing about my Citi Prestige credit card ( Acct - ) because Citi incorrectly reported my account as " 30 day late -/-/- '', even though I mailed in a check to them. I am attaching a photocopy of the check I sent as proof. They admitted that it 's possible that they lost or misplaced my check. I been a Citi credit card customer for over 10 years ( since -/-/- ) starting with the Citi Dividend ( Acct - ) and have never pay late. I wish for Citi to update my credit report to all the major credit report agencies ( e.g., -, -, - ) to accurately reflect that my account was never 30 day late -/-/-.
-End Original Complaint- I mailed a payment check on -/-/-, and another one on -/-/-. One of them was misplaced/lost and another was returned as undeliverable. - - from Citi responded to the original CFPB complaint on -/-/- refusing to fix the problem. She then mistakenly sent a letter dated -/-/- ( attached ) saying that " We have a copy of the front of your check ; however, we will need a copy of the back of the check to see where it was cashed and to assist us in looking the payment. '' I never stated that the check was cashed. I CLEARLY stated that the check was " lost or misplaced '' by them. And the other check was returned as undeliverable. I even stated at the conclusion of the original complaint that, " As of the day of this complaint ( -/-/- ), my credit card account has a zero balance. '' After my complaint, she open a dispute for $2600.00 even though I never claimed it was cashed. I have no idea why she did this. This demontrates that Citi lacks the competence of doing their job properly. A quick search on - shows that Citi has an issue with losing and misplacing customers ' payments. As a result of this, I enrolled in AutoPay in my Citi Prestige account to have the funds electronically drafted from my account to prevent them from misplacing/losing my payment check. She ignored the fact that I have another credit card account with them ( Citi Dividend Acct - ) that I have for over 11 years with - late payment. This demonstrates that I 'm a responsible person that pays on time. She did n't even address that. I want Citi to update my credit report to all the major credit report agencies ( e.g., -, -, - ) to accurately reflect that my account was never " 30 day late -/-/- '' to be in compliance with the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) law. I hope this error gets resolved by Citi because I intend to file a complaint with Colorado State Attorney General Office to have them look into it. As a consumer yourself, you know how frustrating it can be for a company, or in this case, a big bank, to make a mistake and then reporting a " 30 day late '' on my consumer report, and refusing to correct it.
