Citibank Credit card department,
Citibank is fraudulently charging people interest. I 'm sure it 's not happening only to me. This fall, their online payment portal changed. I noticed this change on - -, 2016. Now when I log in to pay on the first of the month, the website says the minimum payment has already been satisfied, and I am invited to pay the remaining statement balance. Under this payment option is the following statement : " This is the remaining amount owed to satisfy your last statement balance. '' On - - I chose this option, but when my next statement came out I saw that my minimum payment did not go through, and I was charged interest. I contacted Citi via live chat on -/-/16 and told the agent all of this. He said it must have been a website glitch and assured me he would reimburse me the interest paid. He did not do so.
Once again, when my new statement was issued, I saw that the minimum payment had not been deducted, only the " remaining statement balance '' amount. And once again I was charged interest. This time, I contacted Citi via email and told them the whole story, including the fact that I captured screen shots of the payment process proving what I say. I referenced the live chat I had with their agent last month. All I received was a canned response not acknowledging anything I said and not offering any resolution. At least this time they did n't try to lie to me about a glitch. How many millions of people are they ripping off this way?
