I foolishly cosigned with my ex for a car ( we both signed papers ) and we both paid on the car ( he got SSI and I work ). About 6 months or so later we agreed to split up and he was going to take the car and continue payments on it ( this was agreed upon as he had more money than I doid ). Fast forward to now, almost 5 years later to my surprise my employer is now having to garnish my wages because Lobel took me to court without my knowledge and sued and is now attempting to garnish my wages for 25 %. Now I would full heartedly own up to this debt BUT These are my reasons as to why what happened is not right. 1. I NEVER received any type of notice saying the car had been repo 'd, sold, or that I was being taken to court or had ever been served.


3. When asking Lobel how can my wages be garnished when I was n't even aware the car was no longer in this other persons possession I was told supposedly I was served at my address. The description? A - lady with - hair, age - named - -/-/2014. Issue is? No one by that name has EVER lived there and I have lived there my whole life with my parents, it has always been my mailing address as well. No woman besides myself and my - yr old mom have ever lived at that house and not even my mom was there as she had already moved. 4. Funny part about this person that was supposedly served? Her last name is " - '' meaning she ca n't be traced to say that I was served or the papers had been given to me. I myself have - hair, have - eyes and am not - as described but -. None of that was ever described. The server fraudently said this person was served these papers so they could get paid. 5. This company has been known to involve themselves in shady practices as many lawsuits have shown as well as other customer complaints. 6. There is a long history of them violating the fair dept collection act and I believe my " case '' would fall under that as well. 7. When I called lobel to see what was going on They acted shocked when I gave them my address. Why? They had a completely different address on file. Upon looking further into the notes, it seems the other person on the account continuously would change the address so I would never be alerted as to what was going on. When I told lobel that did n't seem strange to them and that would make sense as to why I never received anything, I was called a liar. This is fraud and I need help because this is n't fair and I feel like I have been swindled! I would like for them to drop the case as it was filed fraudulently since I was never notified of repo, of the sale. I was never notified of being sued, I was never served but out of thin air all of the sudden my paychecks are about to be garnished. I was never served and no one at my residence was ever served or given ANY knowledge of this situation/action. My rights seem to have gone right out the door. I was never given the chance to make this right as I was under the impression the car was still being paid on. This is what I was told by the other owner and since I never got paperwork I did n't assume otherwise.
