Credit reporting company's investigation no notice of investigation status/result
Equifax Credit reporting department,
Credit reporting company's investigation No notice of investigation status/result Maryland
I have tried several times, to have information pertaining to state Tax Liens removed as the credit bureaus are reporting the information incorrectly. On several occassions, the response from - Equifax, and - is that the accounts were verified and are correct. This is untrue as I have letters from the State of Maryland stating that the debts are satisfied and has been for over one year now. Understanding that the credit bureaus pays third party sources to scout public information, I feel and according to FCRA rules, it is the Bureaus responsibility to ensure that accurate information is furnished on my credit reports. The Bureaus have failed to meet this obligation, even after several requests to investigate and remove these public records. Someone has to hold these bureaus responsible. It 's extremely easy for any creditor to add information to a consumer 's report, but is the hardest of tasks to have the information removed or even properly updated, which is truly unfair to consumers like myself, whom are trying to start over and build my credit.
