Synchrony Financial Credit card department,

APR or interest rate Iowa

- - - Credit Card : has a paragragh in fine print that entices a seemingly innocent plan. In the fine print : [ **Offer applies only to single-receipt qualifying purchases. No interest will be charged on the promo purchase if you pay the promotional purchase amount in full within 6, 12 or 18 months. If you do not, interest will be charged on the promo purchase from the purchase date. Depending on purchase amount, promotion length and payment allocation, the required minimum monthly payments may or may not pay off purchase by end of promotional period. Regular account terms apply to non-promotional purchases and, after promotion ends, to promotional balance. For new accounts : Purchase APR is 29.99 % ; Minimum Interest Charge is $2.00. Existing cardholders should see their credit card agreement for their applicable terms. Subject to credit approval. ] Being a senior citizen I am not able to read the fine print, and rely on the honesty & integrity of the company. I had arranged for my bank to autopay every month for 18 months. Comes the - month, without my knowledge, the autopay stopped 2 weeks before the last payment. Which took me to a

last 18 months of 29.99 % $2100.00 was my remaining balance. There should a law against this type of credit card interest trapping. After several calls, they agreed to let me pay the balance owed. I am a lucky one but what about others that do not know how to fight these banks? Please do not allow banks to trick people. 29.99 % is high enough, but to miss a few days and tacking on the interest from day of purchase is not right. They rely on unsuspecting people to make a mistake like what I did. I will never buy from - - ever again.
