Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,
I have a Wells Fargo Secured Credit Card, with a payment due the - of every month. I paid my bill on the - by transferring funds from my Wells Fargo Checking Account. I woke up the next day to find an account over-limit fee of - added to my balance. This is not the first time this has happened. After calling customer service, I was told they attach a '' ghost fee '' ( which " should '' fall off in 3 or 4 days ) to the bill even though it was paid on the due date and not late. There is no notification of any such fee in the card disclosures, and when I mentioned this to the customer service rep, she stated even though it is not the best, it 's just their policy. These fees have an impact on my credit report and credit score, because they are reported as me overextending my credit, even though I am not. Even if the fee falls off, they do not correct it with the credit reporting bureaus and I am stuck with a false, derogatory hit on my credit for 7-10 years. Ironically, if it was n't for the fact that Wells Fargo is in the news for deceiving some of their customers, I would n't have been looking as closely at my accounts, and would not have found about their practice.
