The collection agency did not send me written statement about - different accounts. Recently, they reported the debts to the credit reporting agencies without ever calling or writing. In the first case, they spoke with me about the dates of service but would not send me anything in writing, so I called the hospital who could no longer provide a statement to me since they turned over the file to the collection agency. In the second case, they simply put it on my report. Reading my credit report should not be the first time that a person finds out about their bill. At the time I was a sliding scale patient at the hospital and had obtained a financial hardship from the Afordable Care Act.
