Credit card Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt is not mine Georgia
Hello, my name is - - -. Here 's the issue - I have a delinquent credit card with Wells Fargo. About 15 years ago, I opened a checking account with Wachovia ( account ending - ). My sister, - - - was added to my checking back 12+ years ago for convenience. I branched off and opened a different primary checking with another financial institution. Subsequently, around - or -, I opened the now delinquent credit card ( account ending - ) and was pitched to open another checking account with Wells in order to receive the Wells credit card. Unfortunately, a divorce caused me to cancel the primary checking w/Wells Fargo and then began to struggle with credit card payments. For more than 12+ years, - - has maintained the Wachovia checking account ( account ending - ) and has remained in good standing. I do not have access to the account ( no debit card, no related transactions whatsoever in more than a decade ). She has had direct payroll deposits into this account and all her financial dealings through Wells Fargo. On -/-/- Wells Fargo took her entire paycheck, forcing her into financially compromising position. Wells
- entire balance plus her payroll direct deposit. This is not a fair or ethical practice. They have crippled an honest customer that never had anything to do with the delinquent credit card. She never had a card in her name or made a single charge relating to this debt. Now, however, she has been punished. What type of recourse do we have? Should we get an attorney? Wells ' ethical statement reads : Wells Fargo 's reputation as one of the world 's great companies for integrity and principled performance depends on our doing the right thing, in the right way, and complying with the laws, rules and regulations that govern our business. We earn trust by behaving ethically and holding all team members and directors accountable for the decisions we make and the actions we take.
