Credit reporting company's investigation no notice of investigation status/result
Equifax Credit reporting department,
Credit reporting company's investigation No notice of investigation status/result North Carolina
Equifax has had months to investigate fraudulent erroneous transactions on my credit. I have provided these people with more documents than they know what to do with. The problem is, they do not feel they have to follow the statues of the FTC and the FCRA. I have disputed - - several times. I have sent them certified copies of the documents I requested. I have explained to them the identity theft I am facing. I received from - today a copy of a truth in lending with the wrong address claiming I resided there when this so called vehicle was purchased. Equifax does not want to remove it. I have sent numerous letters to them stating what I sent to -. I have provided them with police reports and FTC statements. Clearly, this is a case of negligence on their part. They are ding nothing to investigate this, they are just prolonging it so I can not get my credit where it was prior to the theft. Equifax even deleted the original freeze/fraud date from -/-/- and put -/-/-. They are not in compliance and they are skating on not following the statues. If - will not produce the
delinquent accounts on my credit. The other is - collections. They claim they are attempting to collect a debt from -/-/- in -, RI. Well, first of all, when I spoke to them, they claimed it was a debt from -/-/- in the home I grew up in with my parents, now I see they are claiming it was from -/-/- in -, RI. Well guess what? I was n't even residing in - RI in -/-/- and I also did not have service in my name. Therefore, if someone did then they stole my identity yet again. The credit bureau is not doing their due diligence at all and they are simply taking the word of these people who are lying and ruining my credit. The FTC needs to step in and handle this. They need to see to it that the statues and rules are followed as outlined because they are certainly not. The reason they do n't is because a consumer can complain and complain and no one does anything about it. Therefore, it is a waste to complain. The bottom line is I do not owe either one and I am not paying either one. If the CFPB finally chooses to enforce the laws put in place then great. If not, I suppose I will see these people in court. I am tired of their procrastination and their lies. This should have been removed long ago. Especially when I proved I requested documents via certified mail. This meets the standards of the identity theft victim assistance via the FCRA. However, as per usual no one is enforcing it. I am not waiting 30 more days to see that they still have n't removed it, I will retain an attorney and seek damages and prove Equifax is negligent. I hope that some of these incompetent people are fired because they are careless, cold people who do not try to help. This is a government agency, therefore, nothing gets enforced.
