i added a credit card from - - to my paypal account to pay for services i charged to paypal, including lyft and uber. i had previously used a bank account from - - - to pay for paypal charges. without notifying me that the - card was not used, paypal charged - - - approximately $34.00 in expenses from - and - and i believe -. - - - returned the payments. paypal repeatedly billed these expenses to - - - without notifying me, and as a result i incurred upwards of $700.00 in overdraft fees. ( to add context, i learned during this time period that my father has -, and i have been distraught, i do n't just not check my bank accounts as a matter of course ) i asked paypal for a letter to explain the situation to - - -, which they provided, and i furnished that letter to - - -, but - declined to refund the overdraft fees to me. i feel that i have been swindled, as I was charged over $700.00 in fees for less than $40.00 in overdraft. were this a loan, it would be usury.
