Wells Fargo & Company Bank account or service department,
Savings account Deposits and withdrawals Georgia
I - -, entered the Wells Fargo branch located on - - -, -, GA - around -. I am a - bank customer attempting to deposit my personal check paid to the order of my mother - - for $800.00 who is a Wells Fargo customer. I wrote deposit only and her acct # in back of the check due to the fact she lives in - and is not able to endorse the check in person. The teller at the window advised me that they are no longer excepting checks that are not endorsed by the acct holder themselves. This policy is unknown to me and there is no signage anywhere in the branch that has such a policy written. The service manager advised me that they only except cash when you are not the card holder. This is very inconvenient for those who do business and need a paper trail. Checks are how I pay my rent. I called another Wells Fargo branch who was n't aware of this stores policy. I also spoke with the service manager - - who advised that they could simply not accept the check. the branch manager - - advised she would double check policy but never called me back for an update. The lead teller - - could also not tell me why this policy only applied to this branch. If this is Wells Fargo 's new policy, they should apply it across ALL locations and make non customers aware. Now it sounds like an all cash business if you do not have an account with Well Fargo. I feel we are being punished for Wells Fargo ability to detect fraud. their lack of loss prevention should not fall on customers whether we have an acct or not.
