Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
My husband and I had a very strange experience when applying for a Walmart card through Synchrony Bank. We both applied for an account on the same date. On my account, they completely misspelled my first name. On my husband 's account, they used his SSN, birthdate and credit information, but they put the account in my name in error. I emailed customer service three times on -/-/16. They instructed me to have my husband call in to their help desk, so he did that on -/-/16. The customer service rep, -, spoke to both of us. She can see that the account is incorrectly entered under my name, even though it is most definitely my husband 's account, but she refused to correct it. Despite the fact that they have his credit report and the application he submitted on file to prove the owner of the account, they are refusing to remove my name from it. I feel that this constitutes fraud, because they know it is under the wrong person 's name, but they will not remove my name from the account. I am at a loss as to how they could have a glitch so big that they would mess up both accounts opened for my household.
