I was a co-signer on an apartment lease for my son from -/-/- - -/-/- only. My son signed another lease from -/-/- - -/-/- without me as a co-signer or guarantor. I paid his rent during the time I was his co-signer ; however, he was solely responsible for the next year 's lease. He owes the debt, not me for the months of - in the amount of $2000.00. I tried to explain this to the collection agency many times but they continuously harass me stating, " They do n't care. I 'm his mom. I 'm liable too. '' He 's - years old.
