In -/-/- I received an upgrade to my - Credit card, making it a walmart mastercard. With a remaining balance of $50.00 on the original account, I decided to pay it in full to close it out and start fresh with the upgrade. When placing the payment, the new account was credited the $50.00 instead. I contacted Synchrony Bank and explained the situation to the rep. She assured me that the credit would be applied to the previous account and informed me that when a person gets an upgrade the new account takes place of the old -. Feeling wary, I requested a letter from them stating they received my payment, which I received. Since that date, I have been making payments, sometimes double a month, onto my credit cards. In -, my - account was locked. Restricting me from having access to pay my bill. I do not receive paper statements either. I later received a collections letter stating I owed $ - for a delinquent account. With out the ability to VIEW my account online I am left to believe some random collections agency?! Every time I call Synchrony Bank I am redirected to the collections agency as well! I checked my credit score and it has dropped!! This is outrageous. An error with their system and I am the - to pay for it! I have the letter from my final payment. I request a transcript of the call I had with their agent in -/-/-. I demand my account be unlocked so I can VIEW your allegations, Synchrony bank. Why did you wait almost a year later to collect funds from this closed account? Remove your false collections from my Transunion and Equifax report.
