Credit line increase/decrease Maryland
I had a credit card with Wells Fargo. I am unsure if I requested it or it was given automatically. I had a credit limit of - on the card and had a mortgage and my salary directly deposited into my checking account at the bank. I had no issues until some months later when I incurred a - monthly fee. I inquired and was told that in order to not have a monthly fee I would need " direct deposit and a we credit card with a limit of at least -. '' I told the representative that I met that criteria and then I was told that my credit limit had been reduced to $1400.00, unbeknownst to me. So the bank decreased my credit limit so they could start charging me a - monthly fee. I was livid and still am, but it is time consuming and super frustrating to re-establish my mortgage and accounts with another bank, but boy would I love to do so. I have been paying this now for at least 2 years and thought I had no recourse.
