Medical Disclosure verification of debt Not given enough info to verify debt California
Hello, I received a collection letter sometimes on or about - - 2015, from a company named GRANT & WEBER, stating a debt from a hospital, dating back to - of 2015. I called this company and spoke with - - disputing this debt and followed that up in writing by mailing a copy of my dispute letter on -/-/2015 and also by fax on -/-/2015. Based on my notes, my balance was Zero after I had called the hospital in the month of - of 2015. I requested copies and verification of the debt from GRANT & WEBER verbally and in writing. ( Copy is attached ) After my communication with GRANT & WEBER I never received any more correspondence even though I had the understanding from the representative that I will receive the documents I requested. I never received any response afterwards and that gave me the impression this company could not validate the alleged debt ; therefore, they did not bother to respond or follow up any further. Until last night that I received a notification from my credit monitoring agency that my credit profile was flagged by GRAND & WEBER and this is nearly one year
issue appropriately. I feel this company has acted maliciously and without warrant in this matter for flagging my credit file. This derogatory action on my credit is unjustified and premature. GRANT & WEBER did not act lawfully in this matter but, solely to satisfy the so called creditor in this case, by flagging my credit profile. This unjust action has caused a - point drop in my credit score today which will immediately impact my credit worthiness thus creating a major setback at the time my family is financially struggling to survive. This company acted intentionally malicious to force me to settle a claim that I had disputed. Another company had filed a claim regarding same and they could n't prove the debt and was thrown out. I DO NOT OWE thus there should not be a flag on my credit profile by GANT & WEBER until the debt it 's proven and resolution has been reached. Copy of the first letter by G & W, showing my notes on the letter and, my subsequent response is attached herein.
