Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,
My wife passed away on - -, 2016. We were married for 50 years. I notified all of the credit card banks and they all forgave me and my late wife of the money owed the. All but my own bank of Wells Fargo. They said I was co-signer of the card and I must pay them. I reminded them of the Colorado state law that says that I am not responsible for the debt. A month after she died, Wells Fargo said they sent me a credit card for her account. Strange that they would mail me a card a year and a half after ( they say ) I " verbally '' said I would be a " co-signer ''. I asked for me to hear the tape they claim to have of me agreeing to be a co-signer. They refused and told me to hire a lawyer. As a former state representative from -, I served on the -. I realize the problems banks are facing but I had no idea that besides me - there were - - other customers who were LIED to and cheated by Wells Fargo. I will not be intimidated by them and I wo n't pay these corporate " crooks '' a -. I am - years old and this bank should be there for their customers. I want to file a formal complaint.
