I 've been a loyal Banana Republic cardholder for around three years, and have had a $10000.00 line of credit. I have an excellent credit score ( above - ) and have never had a late payment or any issues on other issues with my account with the exception of them consistently putting holds on my account for fraud when I buy items in towns anywhere other than my own ( despite repeated calls letting them know that I travel frequently for work ). In the last month I 've called them on multiple occasions because of issues I 've been having with their online payment system. The first time I had an issue their online payment system debited the incorrect bank account account. I filed a Reg-E claim with my bank, as the deduction was not authorized. A second instance of them attempting to deduct money from an account that was n't even mine occurred a week ago. I called them immediately and told them that the account was not the account I had selected for payment. I then went back into the online system and paid the payment in full with the correct account. Two days later my card was declined, and after calling I was able to determine that they had closed by account with no notification at all. They are also trying to invalidate more than $300.00 in rewards that are rightfully mine. I 've never been treated so disrespectfully or seen such terrible customer service. In the entire time I 've been a cardholder I 've never made a late payment. They informed me that the issues I was having with online payments were my problem, not theirs, and have now hung up on me twice when I called to discuss my concerns. By closing my card with no notification they are not only impacting my credit but also put undo hardship on me and my family as I had pending payments that I was forced to try to correct before incurring additional fees.
