Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt was paid California
- - - began taking automatic payments on my car insurance policy This policy was opened in - and my policy premium was originally $1900.00 or around -/ month. However in - -, - - increased my rate to $ -/ month without informing me of the premium increase either by email or post. Since the charge was made directly to my credit card, I did not notice the increased charge until - - at which time I cancelled my policy because I did not want to pay high premiums and obtained coverage from another source. I notified my credit card company and disputed the charges, and a partial refund was obtained for several months of overcharges. however not all of the overcharges were refunded because the credit card agency would only dispute claims from the past 3 months. Since then I have been battling with nationwide who claims that I still owe them a balance on my account and has sent my balance owed to collections and has threatened my credit score.
