Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
Credit card protection / Debt protection California
I am a former Amazon.com ( GE Capital/Synchrony ) credit card holder. When I received the credit card, I was signed up for the Card Security protection program. After several months of having the card and making timely payments, I was laid off and unable to make substantial or timely payments after exhausting my unemployment benefits. Thus, the card was sold to a 3rd party collection agency despite me having this credit card security protection program in place. I am now being sued by a collection firm for the outstanding balance and legal fees. Is there any sort out of assistance for someone in my situation? I know about 2 years ago the CFPB found GE Capital Retail Bank/Synchrony Bank, Case -, in violation of certain consumer protection acts. Any advice?
