I went to a local Wells Fargo branch office to close out my accounts on -. I was told that my WF Credit Card and Savings Accounts were closed, but there was a federal regulation that prevented me from closing my Checking Account until after the next account cycle ended on -. This seems strange since I had cancelled all activity on this account but decided to leave it alone. I was finally able to close my Checking Account by calling customer support, however, the Savings Account that was confirmed closed on - is still open as of - with a $50.00 balance that I ca n't withdraw because the account is " Pending Close ''. I do n't understand : 1 ) Why Wells Fargo would not close my accounts when I requested them to be closed 2 ) Why Wells Fargo refuses to allow me to fully close/withdraw the remaining funds from my checking account.
