Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
Application processing delay Georgia
This letter is in response to numerous phone calls with Amazon Store Card and the Synchrony SCRA department concerning the end of my - protection underneath the SCRA guidelines. The most recent was Friday -/-/-, with their SCRA department. After I advised their office -/-/- that I was retiring and was allowed 180 days of further protection I was informed that my interest rates would increase in regards to all - accounts you currently hold for me but I could request a decrease and revaluation of my credit to possibly get a lower rate ; I was also told by Amazon Store card and the SCRA department via numerous calls that the interest rate would ONLY increase for NEW purchases not my existing balance. I have since discovered that my and Amazon cards have started charging me the higher rates on my prior balance which conflicts with what I was told. When I spoke with SCRA on Friday they yet again informed me of requesting a review of my credit reports to possibly get a lower interest rate. The company has been amazing with help since GE Money bank to current Synchrony excluding these - MAJOR issues. I expect and was told that prior balances would be exempt from the higher rates unless I made new purchases which I have not. Please correct this issue ASAP and refund me the erroneous and inflated rates. I have always been on time and generally pay in excess of my due amount. An average increase of - % increase is insane and unjust.
