I got sued by my landlord for electricity bills and the matter got settled and fully paid. Several months later a company called - which is based in Texas and provides the service of splitting electricity bills among roommates, that company filled for collections of an electricity bill. The company does not have ownership of that account nor did they ever pay the electricity bill nor is it within their services. Whenever a bill is not paid, it is forwarded to the landlord who in turn collects their debt since they are the ones who actually pay the city for electricity Bills. The claim is completely fraudulent and after contacting - several times thy still refuse to remove the collections claim even though they never paid the bill nor do they that.
