Barclays PLC Credit card department,
Barclay 's Bank opened a - credit card account for me without my authorization. Apparently, it won the - account away from - -, where I was a cardholder. I never authorized the opening of a new account with Barclays. What 's worse, when my - - balance transferred over, I began incurring immediate finance charges. I never even knew this was happening because I never authorized this new credit card being opened in my name. By the time I realized all that had been done without my authorization, my account had already been reported to the credit bureaus for delinquent payment. When I asked Barclay 's to produce the itemized list of charges for the now $ - balance, they could n't. And yet, I had to pay it to spare my credit. All the information is available now but in this moment of crisis, no one could tell me anything about this account I did n't open.
