I am a subscriber to TransUnion Credit Monitoring. An important part of my subscription is the Credit Lock / Unlock function. The Credit Lock / Unlock function works like a Security Freeze, but it is NOT a Security Freeze. I do NOT have a TransUnion Security Freeze in place and have n't had for many years. My TU credit file is locked. I used the Credit Lock / Unlock function to lock it a while back. Yesterday when I applied for credit, the creditor told me it was locked. When I pulled my own credit report copy via TransUnion Credit Monitoring, my credit report specifically states it is locked.
now for over a week. I called TransUnion Credit Monitoring several times. They stayed they have technical issues and will solve them within two days. They lied. It has been well over a week and the issues persist. Today I phoned again. The representative was in an overseas call center in -. The representative was an - and argumentative. Her employee number is # -. She told me I have a Security Freeze on my file and need to go through the process to lift a Security freeze. That 's why, she claims, I can not manage my credit report lock status using the TU Credit Monitoring. The fact is I do NOT have a freeze. My credit file is LOCKED, but I can not unlock it nor can I lock it since it erroneously shows it is unlocked. I asked the representative to speak to a supervisor, but she refused.
